FPA Sri Lanka has taken a step towards strengthening emergency sexual and reproductive health (SRH) preparedness under the International Planned Parenthood Federation - IPPF SPRINT Project, with the signing of a consultancy agreement with Dr. Vinya S. Ariyarathne, Specialist in Community Medicine and Honorary President of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement of Sri Lanka.

The agreement was signed by FPA Sri Lanka's Executive Director, Dr. Ruchitha Perera and Dr. Vinya S. Ariyarathne, who will lead the Sub-national Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) Readiness Assessment in Badulla.

The assessment will examine existing policies, capacities, coordination mechanisms and resources for delivering SRH services during humanitarian emergencies, identify gaps in preparedness, and inform a capacity development and implementation plan. It will also support advocacy for integrating MISP into national disaster response mechanisms and related policies.
