The Youth Services Committee of FPA Sri Lanka proudly launched its Youth Fellowship Programme, designed to equip a new generation of advocates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to advance SRHR in Sri Lanka and beyond.
Phase 1: Training of Trainers (July/August 2025)
Fellows explored:
🔹 Anatomy, reproductive systems, pregnancy, menstruation & SRHR – Dr. Mihitha Basnayaka, Senior Manager – Advocacy, FPA Sri Lanka
🔹 Gender, gender expression, sex & sexuality – Mr. Thushara Manoj, Equite Sri Lanka
🔹 Contraceptives, pleasure & healthy relationships – Dr. Sathyani Wewita,
🔹 Climate & SRHR – Mr. Henry Mitchell
🔹 GBV, OGBV & online safety – Ms. Radhika Guneratne, SGBV Consultant
Phase 2: Residential Advocacy Training (August 16–17, 2025)
Fellows deepened their advocacy skills with Ms. Hazel Rajiah-Tetteh, Advocacy Specialist, exploring strategy, stakeholder mapping, monitoring, and self-care.
They also gained vital legal insights on:
* Pregnancy harm reduction – Dr. Chintha Rupasinghe, Director – SRH, FPA Sri Lanka
* SRHR laws & constitutional rights – Dr. Mihitha Basnayaka, Senior Manager – Advocacy, FPA Sri Lanka
