The Social Marketing Programme of FPA Sri Lanka donated a stainless steel ward-round trolley worth of Rs. 20,000/- to the Paediatric Ward of the Base Hospital of Puttalam on Tuesday, 17 June 2014 at the request of the Senior House Officer of the Paediatric Ward, Dr. M. S. Priyankara through the Clinical Society based at the hosptal.

Only one of the wards functions out of the two Paediatric Wards at the hospital due to lack of staff and the donation of the ward-round trolley supports the existing staff to carry all the necessary medical equipment for daily ward-rounds by the doctors.

Currently over 75 children are receiving in house treatment at this ward. Consultant Pediatrician, Dr. (Mrs) Dhammika Dissanayaka, Dr. M. S. Priyankara, Medicals Officers and Nurses of Pediatric Ward are in the picture accepting the Trolley at the hospital premises.
