Project Period: January - December 2025
Actvities
In 2025, the SPRINT programme will roll out twenty targeted activities centered around two key pillars: Advocacy and Mitigation & Preparedness. Highlights include:
- Community Engagement: Strengthening community participation in disaster-related decision-making through SRH working groups that include women, youth, persons with disabilities, and SOGIE communities.
- FPASL Surge Roster & Emergency Plans: Implementing surge rosters and emergency preparedness strategies at the district level.
- Prepositioning Supplies: Stockpiling essential medical equipment along with maternity and dignity kits to ensure readiness for disasters.
- Training & Capacity Building:
- Training of Trainers on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for SRH in Emergencies (SRHiE) for healthcare staff.
- Two MISP training programmes for first responders.
- Staff training on Emergency Operations Management.
- Simulation exercises for surge roster members and first responders.
- A Value Clarification training programme.
- Youth training programme to actively engage young people in disaster response and SRHiE.
- Policy-Level Work: Continuing efforts to influence and improve policy frameworks surrounding SRH in emergencies.
Expected Outcomes
Through SPRINT, we aim to build resilient communities better prepared for emergencies by prioritizing accessible sexual and reproductive health services. By fostering inclusive community involvement and empowering youth, the programme will mitigate the impact of crises on SRH and save lives. Beyond emergency response, SPRINT seeks to establish a lasting foundation for comprehensive SRH services that benefit communities well into the future.
