As part of their study tour, the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) delegation visited FPA Sri Lanka’s Service Delivery Point in Batticaloa, an essential hub providing vital SRH services to communities in the Eastern Province. In a region where access to care remains limited, the centre plays a key role in addressing teenage pregnancies, GBV, limited SRH education, menstrual health issues, and stigma around reproductive rights.
During the visit, delegates observed a clinic in session and personally handed over maternity kits to pregnant clients. Each kit contained essential hygiene and sanitary items, offering both practical support and a sense of dignity to expecting mothers.
This visit reinforced the importance of community-based services in ensuring no one is left behind in the journey towards health and rights for all.
