As part of their study tour, the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) delegation visited FPA Sri Lankaโ€™s Service Delivery Point in Batticaloa, an essential hub providing vital SRH services to communities in the Eastern Province. In a region where access to care remains limited, the centre plays a key role in addressing teenage pregnancies, GBV, limited SRH education, menstrual health issues, and stigma around reproductive rights.
During the visit, delegates observed a clinic in session and personally handed over maternity kits to pregnant clients. Each kit contained essential hygiene and sanitary items, offering both practical support and a sense of dignity to expecting mothers.
This visit reinforced the importance of community-based services in ensuring no one is left behind in the journey towards health and rights for all.
