At AIDS 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, FPA Sri Lankaโ€™s Dr. Mihitha Basnayake presented on chemsex harm reduction in criminalised settings, drawing on work in Sri Lanka and Malaysia under the SKPA-2 programme, delivered by peer trainers with lived experience and shaped by community input throughout.
โ€œWe choose to end AIDS by trusting communities to lead. Ending AIDS requires shifting power and resources to the communities who have been leading the response all along. We help shift power in practice by choosing to resource, amplify, and scale community-led solutionsโ€.
