FPA Sri Lanka is honoured to take part in the IPPF 2025 General Assembly (GA), the Federationโs highest decision-making body. Held in Bali, Indonesia and hosted by the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association (IPPA), the Assembly took place from 18โ20 November, following a dedicated Youth Event held on 17th November. This global gathering brought together Member Associations under the theme โLead with Love, Care with Courage. IPPF unanimously adopted its first-ever IPPF Charter of Values, which sets out seven values that define identity and purpose: Dignity, Equality, Justice, Pleasure, Community, Integrity, and Resilience.
Representing FPA Sri Lanka were Ms. Aruni Marcelline โ President, Board of Directors, Dr. Ruchitha Perera โ Executive Director and Ms. Kritanjali Ratnasabapathy โ Chairperson, Youth Services Committee.
Additionally, Mr. Chandima Gunawardena, Immediate Past President of FPA Sri Lanka, attended as part of the IPPF Nominations and Governance Committee (NGC).
The Social Marketing Programme (SMP) joined the Come Together Marketplace at the GA, showcasing via a stall, its history, activities and the range of contraceptive options and SRH products offered to communities across Sri Lanka.
At the event, Ms. Kritaanjali Ratnasabathy, Chairperson of the Youth Services Committee and Board Member, was honoured with the IPPF 'Courageous Volunteer Champion to Advance SRHRJ Award 2025'.
Her leadership, passion, and fearless advocacy for youth rights, comprehensive sexuality education, menstrual equity, and inclusive SRHR services have transformed platforms, opened dialogue on taboo issues, and strengthened youth representation nationally, regionally, and globally.
