The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka) is the pioneer institution that initiated and established a space for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in the country. The Outreach Unit of FPA Sri Lanka improves access to essential SRH and family planning services for underserved, marginalized, and rural communities. Through its ten Service Delivery Points in Ampara, Batticaloa, Koggala, Kilinochchi, Nuwara Eliya, Puttalam, Monaragala, Seethawaka, Wathupitiwala and Pallekale, the Outreach Unit of FPA Sri Lanka ensures that SRH and family planning needs are fulfilled for vulnerable populations through various modalities of services. The Outreach Unit is also exploring opportunities to expand service delivery to several more districts. In addition to the services provided, the Outreach Unit of FPA Sri Lanka also carries out humanitarian programmes and works in close collaboration with the UNFPA.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Outreach will oversee implementation and achieve service targets for all projects and programmes.
Manage the ordering and dispatching of drugs, medications, medical supplies, contraceptives, stationery, and other related materials to all ten SDPs in a timely manner.
Support field-level supervision visits.
Assist in organizing head office-level meetings and interventions.
Support maintaining project and programme documentation
Support programme level recording and reporting of drugs, medications, medical supplies, and contraceptives at the head office
Support maintaining all finance-related and compliance documentation.
Maintain SDP level inventory at the head office
Maintain close relationships with Head office Outreach Unit staff and Service Delivery Point Staff
Any other duties assigned by the Senior Management
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field and a Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
Experience in managing projects and qualifications in Project Management will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and experience in Sexual and Reproductive Health are essential.
Experience: Minimum 8 years’ experience in the NGO and/or Development sector.
Language competency: Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Sinhala. Tamil language competency is an added advantage.
IT Competency: MS Office package.
Contract period: 1 year (Renewable)
