The Medical Unit of FPA Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, successfully conducted a Gynecology & Obstetrics Clinic as part of the Wassana Diyawara Health Camp on 9th March 2025 at Ikkapallama Kanishta Vidyalaya, Hambantota. This initiative provided essential women’s health services to underserved populations in rural Sri Lanka, where access to specialized care is often limited.
During the clinic, more than 50 PAP screenings were conducted, with a 10% gross anomaly detection rate, ensuring early diagnosis and timely intervention. Additionally, a wide range of contraceptive services were offered, including IUD insertions, Jadelle implants, injectables, and condoms, empowering individuals with greater reproductive health choices.
By bringing healthcare services closer to these underserved communities, we made a meaningful impact on women's health and well-being!
