LILI (Light to Life) - (2016)

The Light to Life Project - commonly known as LILI project - was implemented to address the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) issues faced by the differently able soldiers - those injured during the internal conflict - and to help fulfill their sexual aspirations. This project is conducted by FPA Sri Lanka with the cooperation of the Military Intelligent Corps and Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Army. Over the years several mobile health camps were set up to provide SRH services to the physically handicapped army soldiers along with advocacy/awareness programs and counselling services. These programmes covered soldiers belonging to 10 regiments including the Sri Lanka Gajaba Regiment - Anuradhapura Senapura Camp, the Sri Lanka Service Corps - Panagoda Camp.

Today, the LILI project has branched out to serve the retired armed service personnel and army deserters as well.

Programs are also being carried out to provide SRH awareness and counselling services to over 500 families of the army soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice. These services are carried out in collaboration with the Ranaviru Seva Authority (Welfare for Servicemen).

Through the LILI project, SRH services and counselling services were also provided to former LTTE cadres who have now been rehabilitated.
