Sexual and Reproductive Health and Allied Services

FPA Sri Lanka is committed to meeting the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of underserved populations, young people, and communities across Sri Lanka. We facilitate access to high-quality, confidential information, education, clinical services, and referrals—regardless of age, sex, marital status, ability to pay, ethnic origin, political or religious belief, disability, sexual orientation, or health status.

Family Planning

We offer comprehensive contraceptive counselling and services to support informed choice and reduce the risk of unplanned and unintended pregnancies.

Methods Available at the Clinic

Hormonal

  • Oral Contraceptive Pills (OCP – Mithuri)

  • Implants – Jadelle (effective for 5 years)

  • Injectable contraception – Depo Provera (3-monthly)

  • Intrauterine System (IUS) with Levonorgestrel – Mirena (removal services only)


Non-Hormonal

  • Copper Intrauterine Device (IUD/Loop) – effective for 10–12 years

  • Male condoms


Fertility Consultations

FPA Sri Lanka provides fertility consultations, including fertility awareness counselling and advice.

Genecology Services

A wide range of gynecological consultations, including:

  • Menstrual disorders

  • Vaginal discharge

  • Menopause-related concerns

  • Bladder dysfunction

  • Lower abdominal and pelvic pain


Sexual Health Clinic

Confidential services for individuals experiencing sexual health concerns, including:

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • Premature ejaculation

  • Reduced libido

  • Vaginismus and pain during intercourse

  • Other sexual wellbeing concerns


Ultrasound Scanning

Ultrasound services are available by appointment by a consultant VOG, for Genecology and Obstetrics at the Bloom by FPA Sri Lanka Clinic

Cancer Screening

Breast Health

  • Risk assessment and counselling

  • Manual breast examination by female doctors

  • Education on self-breast examination

  • Referral for imaging or mammography when indicated


Cervical Health

  • Pap smear testing for sexually active individuals

  • Early detection of precancerous and cancerous cervical changes


Prostate Health

  • Symptom assessment and clinical examination

  • Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) testing when indicated


STI / HIV Testing and Treatment

Confidential consultations, testing, and management for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including education on prevention and risk reduction.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Screening

Our trained doctors and counsellors provide compassionate, confidential care for women, men, and children affected by sexual and gender-based violence. Services include:

  • Screening and counselling

  • Referral for legal support and medical care

  • Strict confidentiality and privacy throughout care


Services for LGBTIQ+ Individuals

FPA Sri Lanka provides inclusive, respectful sexual and reproductive health services, education, and psychosocial support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, and questioning individuals.

Nutrition advises and diet planning

Nutrition consultations are available on appointment by a consultant nutrition Physician for any nutrition related concerns at Bloom by FPA Sri Lanka Clinic

General Health Checks

  • Detailed medical history

  • General physical examination (heart, lungs, abdomen)

  • Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment

  • Blood pressure measurement

  • Laboratory investigations (as indicated)
