FPA Sri Lanka invites applications from qualified and empathetic professionals for the position of Counsellor at the FPA Suwa Sewa Centre Puttalam. The Centre is designed to provide comprehensive wellbeing services to the community, including support for mental health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group Counselling Sessions.

• Support awareness and outreach sessions on SRHR, GBV, and mental wellbeing.

• Maintain confidentiality and ensure ethical practices in service provision.

• Keep accurate records and provide periodic reports on counselling activities

• Be available for afternoon and late-hour shifts, based on the center’s schedule and client needs.

• Directly report to the Centre Manager.

Job Specifications

• Fixed-Term Contract (Renewable)

• Diploma or Degree in Counselling, Psychology or related field.

• Proven experience in providing counselling services, preferably in NGO or community setting.

• Fluency in both Sinhala and Tamil is preferred.

• Knowledge of English is an added advantage.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to work with diverse community with empathy and cultural security.
