FPA Sri Lanka successfully held the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for its new Service Delivery Point (SDP) at the Pallekelle Export Processing Zone today, 18th September 2025. This milestone marks a significant step toward expanding sexual and reproductive health services in the Central Province, especially targeting manufacturing sector workers, most of whom are women.

The event was graced by Deputy Director BOI Pallekelle, along with Dr. Ruchitha Perera, Executive Director of FPA Sri Lanka, and the organisation’s Senior Management Team, and Outreach Unit staff.

Developed in partnership with the Board of Investment (BOI), and supported by senior health officials, including the Provincial Director of Health, the Regional Director of Health (Kandy), the Medical Officer of Maternal and Child Health, and the Medical Officer of Health, Kundasale, the new centre will provide contraceptive services, cancer screening, STI prevention, mental health support, and carry out GBV prevention awareness programmes and referral support for EPZ staff.

On this occasion, Dr. Ruchitha Perera, Executive Director of FPA Sri Lanka, stated:
