On the 10th and 11th of July, inaugural meetings of the 'Youth Network for Health' youth clubs, supported by the RFSU-funded project were held. These clubs are led by youth trained in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) through the initiative.
Two youth clubs were established, one in Puttalam and one in Nuwara Eliya. During the meetings, executive committee positions (Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Vice Secretary, Treasurer, Organizer) and four subcommittee chairpersons were selected through nominations and anonymous voting.
As their first community initiative, the clubs will conduct SRHR/CSE awareness sessions in their local areas - five sessions per district, reaching peers and promoting informed, rights-based knowledge.
