From 7th โ 11th November 2025, MD trainees in Community Medicine and Community Dentistry visited FPA Sri Lanka for a learning programme as part of their Public Health Management Training. This training forms part of the rotational attachment component within their MD curriculum and is designed to support the successful completion of their training requirements.
During the sessions, participants gained insights into FPA Sri Lankaโs management structure, programmes, and reproductive health service delivery. They also learned about interventions for high-risk groups, HIV prevention strategies, social marketing of contraceptive products, distribution systems, operational challenges, and partnerships that contribute to national sexual and reproductive health outcomes.
The training was guided by FPA Sri Lankaโs Executive Director Dr. Ruchitha Perera, Director of SRH Dr. Chintha Rupasinghe, Director of M&E Mr. Suchira Suranga, Director of Marketing Mr. Suhail Junaid, Deputy Director of HIV and Project Manager for the GFATM National HIV Prevention Programme Mrs. Nadika Fernandopulle, and Senior Manager of Advocacy Dr. Mihitha Basnayake.
