Training youth – developing change makers!

The world is home to the largest generation of young people in history. They are diverse and have opportunities, but they also face immense obstacles in their lives. Young people and adolescents need to be able to make informed decisions and have access to sexual and reproductive health education, information, and services. The Batticaloa SDP conducted an interactive 2-day capacity building programme for youth volunteers training on SRH topics at the Batticaloa District Psychosocial Centre in Kallady. This workshop was designed to engage young people in skills training on #SRH, bodily autonomy, puberty, gender-based violence and related information and services while dispelling SRH myths and misconceptions. As active agents in the community, these volunteers will be peer educators. This activity is carried out in partnership with UNFPA Sri Lanka and DFAT.
