Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on FP2020

Sri Lanka became a new FP202 commitment making country in July 2018. The Government of  Sri Lanka made a commitment to promote rights-based family planning, increasing service delivery points, capacity building of health workforce, and strengthening postpartum and post abortion care, with a goal to increase modern contraceptive prevalence rate (mCPR) from 53.6% to 57.2% by 2025.

A team of Focal Points representing government, civil society, and donor’s work with the FP2020 Secretariat, Core Conveners, and stakeholders to drive progress on the country’s FP2020 goals and FPA Sri Lanka was appointed as a Civil Society Focal Point from September 2018 onwards.

Organisations represented at the Planning meeting for Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop on FP2020 that was held on the 8th of February were FPA Sri Lanka, Praja Padanama, Dabindu Collective Sri Lanka, Stand up Movement Lanka and Women's Centre.

From FPASL, Ms Sonali Gunasekera -Director Advocacy, Mr Thushara Manoj -Senior Manager - Advocacy and Youth and Ms Avanti Arsecularatna - Advocacy Campaign Manager participated.
