Technical Group Meeting (TWG) for Community-led Monitoring (CLM) - SKPA-2 Project

A Technical Group Meeting (TWG) for Community-led Monitoring (CLM) was convened for the 4th time by the SKPA-2 project of The Family Planning Association. In this meeting, Dr Ajith Karawita, the National CLM Consultant, presented his Final Report on the CLM Pilot Activity to both the CLM TWG and the attending CLM Pilot staff from the Lanka Plus Organisation.

Dr. Karawita highlighted that feedback was gathered from service users in the MSM community for CLM. The ultimatum of CLM is to transition to a web-based responsive form for data collection, but presently, data is manually collected through in-person interviews or telephone conversations. Challenges encountered during the data collection process have been addressed through necessary adjustments. The primary focus of the CLM assessment encompassed four main areas: Availability, Accessibility, Acceptability, and Quality (AAAQ). Thirteen indicators were employed to measure these areas and evaluate overall satisfaction levels.

The survey covered various MSM groups, including respondents from the HIV clinic (10), Gampaha (17), NSACP (54), and the Heart2Heart clinic (57). While the results were generally positive, it is essential to consider emotional effects and individual differences among the respondents when interpreting the data.

Furthermore, the CLM Pilot staff from Lanka Plus shared their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned concerning data collection, client handling, conflicts with NSACP, and the overall project activities.

In addition to the above, the TWG also discussed modifying the activity during the scale-up phase, drawing insights from the lessons learnt during the Pilot phase.
