National Policy and Strategy on Health of Young Persons – Advocacy meeting to develop the action plan

An initial sensitisation meeting was held for the North Western Province with key stakeholders to take forward the National Policy and Strategy on Health of Young Persons.  The meeting was chaired by Mr.P.B.M.Sirisena - Chief Secretary-North Western Province and many officials from the Ministry of Health, Education, and Planning were in attendance. It was facilitated by Dr.Janaki Vidanapathirana (NSACP), Mrs.Sonali Gunasekara-FPA Sri Lanka Director-Advocacy, Mr Rangika Wikramage - Assistant Director-Public Affairs, Policy and Advocacy and Dr.Hathurusinghe- Consultant Venereologist-NW Province.

 

It was decided that the above group together with the Provincial commissioner of Probation and Child Care, Social Services and other youth related Ministries would develop an action plan based on the National Policy for the Province. The Action Plan will be presented on the 2nd of March to the Chief Secretary and FPA Sri Lanka.
