FPA Sri Lanka launches new Contraceptive Pill

The Family Planning Association (FPA Sri Lanka) who has provided quality Family Planning commodities and services to the Sri Lankan public for the past many decades has now introduced a new combined Oral Contraceptive Pill (COCP) named Ovorest. Each white tablet contains Levonorgestrel (Progestrone) BP 0.15mg and Ethinylestradiol BP 0.03mg (Oestrogen).

Each brown tablet contains Ferrous Fumarate (Iron) 75mg. This product is manufactured by Renata Limited, a Bangladeshi based company with an unblemished record of producing quality pharmaceutical products including contraceptives since 1972. The pill should be taken daily, at the same time, to avoid an unplanned pregnancy. Start with the white (hormone) pill and continue taking all 28 tablets before you start on a new packet of pills. Consistent and correct use provides you with 99.9% effectiveness. There is no delay in conception after discontinuation of the pill.
