Education, health and well-being go hand in hand!

A youth camp was organized by FPA Sri Lanka in partnership with the Mass Communication undergradates of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

The camp was designed to engage young people in skills training on Sexual and Reproductive Health, bodily autonomy, gender-based violence and related information and services while dispelling SRH myths and misconceptions. Most students are living away from their homes whilst engaging in their educational activities. Such knowledge empowers and protects them.

An interactive approach through group activities, dramas and games aimed to create an environment where youth could freely engage in conversations surrounding sexual and reproductive health and feel comfortable seeking essential SRH services when needed.

Dignity kits containing essential hygiene and sanitation items, including sanitary pads, soap and other toiletries, were also distributed. In this time of economic challenges, recipients appreciated this donation.
