Coping after a traumatic event

FPA Sri Lanka’s Alokaya Counselling Unit conducted a workshop for 75 IT Executives belonging to Camso Global Information Technology on Psychological / Emotional Trauma on the 7th of June 2019.
The first session facilitated by Mrs. Badra Udawatta (Deputy Director - FPASL Alokaya Counselling Unit) addressed the topics: Effect of Trauma, it’s impact on one’s physical, psychological, cognition , social and behavioural aspects, the guilt and shame effect etc. This interactive session, comprised activity based knowledge sharing segments, where many participants shared their personal experiences as well.

The second session facilitated by Mrs. Dilmi Weerasinghe, (Psychological Counsellor) addressed the topics of: How to recover from Emotional and Psychological Trauma. The segment entailed mindfulness relaxation activities, self – esteem enhancing exercises, energy boosting physical activities and a self-reflective session.

Mrs. Mallika Samarawickrama (FPASL Happy Life Centre) and Miss Yohani de Silva also assisted in this workshop.
