The consultative strategy workshop took place on the 27th of December 2018.

Topics of discussion: What is the Human Rights Commission’s committment to the LGBTIQ Community and Why we should fight for LGBTIQ rights.

Panel discussion was on:
1 Legal,civil,political rights
2 Social and media awareness
3 General public awareness and service delivery

Participants comprised 36 LGBTIQ advocates and activists from Colombo and out of Colombo, mainly from Anuradapura, Jaffna and Polonnaruwa.

Facilitators - Ms.Ambika Satkunanathan, Commissioner ,Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission and Ms.Radika Gunaratne - Programme Director of Nelumyaya Foundation, Attorney at law.
Mr. Jake Oorloff and Mr.Niluka Perera facillitated the group discussion on legal,civil,political rights of the LGBTIQ community.
