Medical camps by the Outreach Unit

Multiple medical camps have been carried out under the purview of the Outreach Unit in the last few weeks at various locations attached to the Service Delivery Points of FPA Sri Lanka located at Ampara, Nuwara-Eliya Batticaloa, Maradana and Koggala. The clinics are run by one or more medical officers along with para medical staff, counsellors, nurses, lab technicians and provide services under the Integrated Package of Essential Services (IPES) such as family planning, ECP, gynaecology and HIV related services among others.

Here are some picture highlights

Lunawa – clinic for women – breast cancer screening

 

 

Maradana - This clinic was held as a partnership event with the Community Police Unit of the Maradana Police.

 

 

Ampara – Mega static clinic – over 360 participants

 

 

 

 

 Batticaloa - Clients were able to avail the services of cancer screening (Breast and Cervical cancer) Family Planning and counselling. Over 1500 services were provided at this clinic.


 

 

Nuwara- Eliya - Mega Static Clinic where over 400 clients received 3500 SRH services which included testing for STI’s / HIV, cancer screening together with other medical services.

 

 

 

Ussapitiya - A medical clinic for 50 displaced families belonging to the Aranayake Ussapitiya Camp was held on the 3rd of December. Disasters have a disproportionate impact on women and girls including on their sexual and reproductive health and sexual and reproductive rights.

 

 

 

Koggala – participants comprised garment factory employees, VTA students, youth, Government Officers, staff attached to hotels in the area and members of the armed forces and police.
