Gender-based violence (‪GBV) is a growing public health concern in Sri Lanka

Gender-based violence (‪GBV) is a growing public health concern in Sri Lanka. In recognition of this problem, since 2012, FPA Sri Lanka integrated GBV services to their routine Sexual and Reproductive Health services, an initiative that was well appreciated by clients. As their latest initiative, FPA Sri Lanka trained 60 general practitioners (GPs) in the Puttalam and Anuradhapura districts to enable them to provide friendly, caring, and non-judgmental GBV services. The training was supported by the Family Health Bureau of the Ministry of Health and the College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka, and was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
