CFH - Centre for Family Health offers a wide range of sexual and Reproductive Health services to its clients by way of affordability and quality care by a dedicated group of doctors, nurses and other medical staff.

Services provided

Family Planning Services:

  • Contraceptive consultations and services to all irrespective of marital status to increase the uptake of a suitable method of contraception to reduce the unmet need and the risk of an unplanned/ unwanted pregnancy.
Methods available at the clinic:

Temporary:
  • Hormonal - Oral Contraceptive Pill (OCP - Mithuri), Implants - Jadelle (5 years) and the 3 monthly injections - Depo Provera
  • Non Hormonal - Intra Uterine Device containing Copper - Loop (for 10 - 12 years), Intra Uterine System containing Levonogestrel Hormone - Mirena (5 years) and the Male condoms
Permanent:
  • Female Sterilization - LRT (Ligation and Resection of Tubes): A simple procedure done under local anaesthesia. Takes only around 20 - 30 minutes. Can go home the same day. Done every other Saturday per month.
  • Male Sterilization - Vasectomy: A very minor surgery which only takes less than15 minutes. Done under local anaesthesia and there is no use of the scalpel therefore not cut in the skin or any suturing done. No effect on your male sexuality and no effect on the effect on the quality and quantity of ejaculatory fluid.
Need a prior appointment for sterilizations.

STI/ HIV services:

  • Consultations on how and how not STI’s are contracted, how to protect yourself and testing for STI/HIV. All screening tests for Syphillis - VDRL, Herpes - HSV, HIV and Hepatitis B done at the clinic.
  • Pre and Post test counseling done by doctors. Confidentiality and Privacy is maintained at all times. Anonymity during testing is also adhered to when necessary.
Health checks - Male and Female:

  • Breast check - Consultations on risk factors and how to avoid these, manual breast examination by female doctors and self breast examination is taught and encouraged. Referral if necessary for scans and mammograms to exclude any pathology.
  • Cervical check - Pap smear test if sexually active and above 21 years. A simple procedure that only takes a few minutes and a most effective way to detect changes in the cells of the cervix.
  • Prostate check - Detail questions on symptoms and signs. Per rectal examinations and Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test if needed.
  • Other checks included:

    Detail history taking

    General Body check (heart/lung/abdomen)

    Eye check

    Body Mass Index (BMI)

    Blood Pressure check

    Laboratory Investigations
Counseling on Sexual & Gender Based violence service:
  • The doctors and counselors are trained to attend to the needs of men, women and children who are affected by sexual & gender based violence. We offer screening, counseling and referral for legal advice and medical treatment.
Confidentiality and privacy is maintained throughout the management process.

Sexual Health clinic:
  • This clinic provides services to all who suffer silently with problems related to sexuality - impotence, premature ejaculation, loss of libido (reduced desire), vaginismus (pain during sexual intercourse) and many other issues.
  • You can either consult a doctor at the clinic or get treatment by a Sexual Health Specialist on Fridays by making a prior appointment.
Scanning Facility:
  • Consultant Radiologist service is available for you by appointment on Thursdays to get your scrotal, abdominal, trans vaginal, breast, fertility and foetal scans.
Subfertility Services:
  • Pre pregnancy counselling on what you should do (medications/ injections) and on the fertile days provided.
  • We offer services to couples who are suffering from subfertilty by providing awareness on fertile days, fertility scan including follicular tracking, ovarian stimulation by medication, Seminal Fluid Analysis (SFA), tubal patency tests and Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI).
  • This clinic is supported by two eminent Gynecologists who offer specialist consultations.
Gynaecology Services:
  • We counsel clients on menstrual problems, vaginal discharge, menopause issues, urine problems, abdominal pain
