Medical Camp and Donation at The Saddharmodaya Vidyalaya

The FPASL welfare society well thought out a medical clinic at the Saddharmodaya Vidyalaya on the 6th April 2012. Stationed at the location was the highly equipped mobile clinic which conducted the eye clinic, dental clinic and the signature sexual and reproductive health clinic. Benefitted through this programme were not only the students attached to the Saddharmodaya Vidyalaya, but also their dear parents and siblings. In parallel to the clinics conducted a donation of linen items, under clothing, dry food packs and other items that help maintain personal hygiene. Hands involved in making this event an immense success are the medical unit of FPASl, the eye clinic mobile unit of the General Hospital and the George Gunarathne opticians who extended their fullest cooperation for the programme.
Integration and Partnerships for Hiv Prevention Workshop

FPASL being implementers of the IPPF SARO (International Planned Parenthood Federation: South Asia Region Office) projects on advocacy for SRH & HIV Integration hosted a review workshop for key project partners on ‘Integration and Partnerships for HIV prevention’. Objectives of the workshop were;
Lisa Project

The LISA project, funded by UNFPA, carried out a number of mobile clinics in the Kilinochchi and Mullaitive districts during the month of April. While the mobile clinics were conducted with the objective of providing lifesaving reproductive health services which in turn would reduce maternal, neonatal mortality and the incidence of HIV/AIDS, psychological support were also extended for pregnant mothers through counseling programmes.
The project activities under the LISA project were conducted in close coordination with the public health system of the target areas. The public health system unable to cater and access to the entire community of the target area, LISA bridging the gap, participation of the target community for LISA activities is noted to be remarkable.
Demand Generation Programmes

The FPA Colombo Service Delivery Point (SDP), conducted a two day demand generation programme on request for those attached to the Mahabodi Vidyalaya. The programme was carried out at the SDP center premises and the school premises respectively. The event was carried out with the intention of awareness generation amongst the general public about the Colombo SDP and the service it delivers on a day to day basis. Also highly encouraged at the programme was the participation of the audience for the activities conducted by the center.
A Mobile Exhibition

Organized by the Colombo SDP was also a mobile exhibition which was held at the Mahabodi Vidyalaya, Colombo 2. The prime objective of the exhibition was to enhance awareness amongst adolescents on sexual and reproductive health & sexually transmitted infection such as HIV/AIDS.
